MD stands for Doctor of Medicine while MS stands for Master of Surgery. MD is non-surgical and doesn’t involve in conducting any kinds of surgeries. Whereas an MS involves surgical expertise and skills. There are various specializations that an MD or MS can choose after the completion of their MBBS degree. If you choose MS then you stand out to perform surgeries with your skills and knowledge with tools and scissors.
Whereas if you choose MD then you will work as a specialist to prescribe drugs and treatment to patients without having the involvement of tools and surgical equipment. However if needed an MD also can conduct a surgery if he is well versed in his field. The course duration is for a tenure of 3 years.
