Bachelor of Science in Horticulture Science / B.Sc Horticulture Science is a three year undergraduate in Agriculture Science & Technology Course. It is the industry and science of plant cultivation, including the process of preparing the soil for the planting of seeds, tubers, or cuttings. In B.Sc. Horticulture Science, students will conduct research in various areas of plant propagation & cultivation, crop production, plant breeding, and plant biochemistry, etc. The work involves research on fruits, berries, nuts, vegetables, flowers, trees, shrubs, and turf.
B.Sc Horticulture Science comprises of many interesting subjects such as Fundamentals & Ornamental of Horticulture, Soil Science & Engineering, Nursery Management, Water Resource Management, Weed & Orchard Management, Farm Machinery & Equipment, Agroforestry, Medicinal & Aromatic Plants, and Seed Technology etc.
Just as B.Sc Botany and B.Sc Agriculture this course, largely depend on the plants. It is the course which implements the latest technologies in the horticulture. Earth depends on the plants and the one who chooses the course depends on the plants. The scope will last forever for this course unit the earth rotates.
Graduates have lots of job opportunities in the Government as well as Private sector. In the Government sector, they can work with State wise Agriculture Departments, State wise Forestry Departments, etc. In the Private sector, they can work in various areas like Private Plantations, Agricultural Machinery & Equipment manufacturing firms, Agricultural Products marketing firms, Ornamental plants, and Flower Businesses, etc.
They can go to foreign countries for getting their higher education in this field. They can work as supervisors, researcher, distributors, engineer, etc.
