B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering / B.Tech in ECE is a 4 year under graduate Program which deals with electronics and telecommunication that involves the analysis, plan, design and application of electrical circuits and transmissions with communication and its terminals. B. Tech in ECE is a professional course that focuses on technology involving the study of electricity and electronics combined with hardware and software components in telecommunication sector. The entire course is divided into 8 semesters which has both practical and theoretical exams held every year for 4 years.

In a modern era where the entire universe runs on technology and advancements the demand and need for certain electronic gadgets also has emerged. We all are aware of communication being a source of network medium throughout the world. From smoke signals to variants of IPhone, methods and cultures of communication have constantly evolved throughout the world and led to a rise in business revolution. From telephonic routers with big wires to wireless Wifi and broadband communication has definitely made a major revolution.

The curriculum of Electronics and communication engineering has topics involved like digital electronics, various concepts of electronics and communication, analog and transmission, analog communication, microwave engineering, satellite communication, digital electronics and digital communication etc.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Candidates must have cleared their 10+2 from a recognized board or university.
  2. The candidates must have studied physics, chemistry and mathematics as compulsory subjects.
  3. Those candidates belonging from general category should have scored a minimum of 45%.
  4. Those belonging from other Reserved categories such as OBC, SC/ST, or PWD must have scored a minimum of 40%.
  5. Those candidates who have completed their Diploma in electronics and communication can also apply for this course.

Admission Process

If you are seeking admissions for ECE then there are two ways you can get admissions for these courses either through entrance exams which are held state level or national level. They can even get in through merit list or management quota. The merit list will be drawn on the basis of marks scored in qualifying exams. As ECE is a very sought after course the demand for seats in colleges is also more.

ECE Admission Through Entrance Exams- Some universities give admissions to various engineering courses on the basis of entrance exams. This can be state level or on national level. Some state private universities conduct their own entrance exams. Entrance exams would be having a cut off percentage. The candidates must be eligible in the exam for admissions. The selection process will be done by a group counseling round followed by a personal interview round.

ECE Direct Admission - For admissions in B.Tech ECE apart from this option of getting in through entrance exam there is also a possibility of getting admissions done through merit list or directly through ECE Management Seat. Some colleges provide seats to students based on a cut off percentage. If the student has satisfied the cut off then they might get a chance of getting into the choicest colleges they prefer. But usually the cut off is very high for such on demand courses. Or if they don’t want to prefer both the above given options they can choose the option of getting a management seat. For management seats the fees is quiet high.
