B.Tech Mechanical Engineering is a 4 year undergraduate engineering course which specifies or gives a brief study on production, designing and operation of machines. Students who are more interested and have a liking towards applications of machines, their functions and different principles can opt for this course as it also gives the student a top end source over the best career options.
Mechanical Engineering is one of the most diversified and versatile engineering branch which plays a pivotal role in human life. In general a mechanical engineer helps in developing products by coming up with new ideas, performing analysis on different structures, coming up with strategies, manufacturing technologies and production process, analysis and tracking the machine running process and performs the intended functions. The main objective behind taking up Mechanical Engineering is to prepare the students to apply the modules and principles of engineering on machines, for the designing, manufacturing and maintenance of mechanical systems and structures.
Some colleges/ universities offer admissions to the candidates on the basis of merit or the qualifying exam scores of the students depending upon the cut off scores that the college has set or through the management quota.
There are a list of entrance exams as conducted by the State Level & National Level Entrance Test. Some universities have their own entrance exam. Here is a list of entrance exams conducted for B. Tech Mechanical engineering admissions.
Students can join the top NIT`s and IIT`s, IIIT`s, CFTI`s, by cracking entrance exams. For an instance a candidate should get through JEE mains to write JEE advanced in order to get into IIT`s. And then after qualifying and scoring the cut off rank in advanced the candidates will have to obtain an All India Rank. Only after this process will they be able to get into the top IIT`s.

Every engineering stream comes with a variety of areas of specializations. Students need to opt a specialization in their last year of study or their 6th semester based on their inclination or area of interest. Detailed technical education about each and every aspect of it would be taught.
There are a list of the most notable colleges and universities which offer a very holistic approach towards not just the theoretical knowledge but also practical knowledge towards the particular course. But getting into these notable universities ain`t that easy task. They say “ when the going gets tough, the tough gets going”.
