Top Entrance Test

  1. IELTS: IELTS is a very widely recognized English proficiency test which is accepted by many universities for English taught programs. IELTS is also used as immigration purpose. The IELTS exam certificate is valid for 2 years from the result date. German universities do accept IELTS score.
  2. TOEFLS: TOEFL is an English certificate test widely accepted all over the world. The test is divided into 4 parts; reading, writing, listening and speaking and it is for a duration of 4 hours. Validation of the TOEFLS
  3. TestDaf Test Deutsch als Fremdsprache: TestDaf also known as Test of German as a foreign language which is German equivalent to IELTS and TOEFLS. The exam also comprises of reading, writing, listening and speaking. Sections, just like all other language exams. The TestDaf is usually taken by those students who wish to pursue their majors or under graduation in German language. The criteria differ from universities to university. The standardized test can be taken over 400 centers world-wide in advance for the students stay in Germany.
  4. GMAT: Graduate Management Aptitude Test is very preferred test commonly taken by students who are willing to take admissions for business and management related courses worldwide. GMAT basically tests the student’s aptitude with integrated reasoning, quantitative reasoning, verbal reasoning and writing assessment. This exam is taken by thousands of students all over the world for admissions in more than 6000 business and management courses.
  5. GRE: Graduate Record Examination is attempted by those students who want to pursue their under graduation in any stream. This exam consists pf analytical writing assessment, quantitative and verbal reasoning. It is mandatory for any student to take up this exam for admissions in higher education. There are various universities in Germany which accept GRE scores as a requirement for admissions.

Student Visa

The procedure for student visa differs from country to country. But there are certain general points that one needs to keep in mind. It takes up to 25 days on an average for your German student visa application to be processed. This depends on the country and the German embassy you’re planning to apply to. A student visa is required by Indian students who wish to pursue Higher Education in Germany and have secured admission in a German College or University.

Applicants should apply for the visa in person at least 3 months prior to departure. The visa processing may take 8 – 12 weeks. The Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Mumbai can only accept the visa applications from persons residing in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Daman and Diu. The Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Chennai accepts the visa application from the states of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry. The Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bangalore accepts the visa application from the states of Karnataka & Kerala. • The Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Kolkata accepts the visa application from the states of West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura. • The Delhi Embassy's area of consular jurisdiction covers the states of Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and the Union Territories of Chandigarh, Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar and Lakshadweep Islands.
